Alain Lagarde

Alain Lagarde studied at the Théâtre National de Strasbourg school and, since then, has been set designer for more than a hundred opera, theatre, dance and musical productions. Collaboration with artists such as Jacques Lassalle, Jorge Lavelli, Matthew Jocelyn, Christophe Rauck, Olivier Dahan, Michèle Noiret, Thierry Malandain and Jean Christophe Maillot. He works at the opera houses of Paris, Lyon, Brussels, Geneva, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Cologne, Vienna, the Spring Festival in Tokyo, the BAM in New York and the Comédie Française. Most recently, he designed the set for Brett Dean's "Hamlet" for the new revue of Paradis Latin in Paris and for "Richard II" at the Festival d'Avignon 2022. He has worked as artistic director for two Arte films. For example, Alain Lagarde was also active in architecture and design with the group »Snohetta« for the Nanterre Amandiers Theater or at the Postal Museum in Paris together with »Jung Architectures«.
